It is time to reserve a space in the most intensive Arabic Program being taught in Cairo, Egypt. The Fajr Center is the first of the two Arabic language institutions in Egypt which have received accreditation by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and is the ONLY institution with an accredited Intensive Summer Arabic Language Program. By combining our course with living in an Arabic speaking environment, our students attain the highest level of fluency in the Arabic language per level of study.

Please note that all our 14 levels of standard Arabic (Fos-ha) are available in the Summer Program. Students are sit for a placement exam both oral and written prior to the start of their studies.

Students have the option of completing one of the three programs: Ibn Aqeel program (consists of 200 hours ) , Sibawih I Program (consists of 100 hours ), Sibawih II Program (consists of 100 hours ). The Summer Programs dates and costs are as follows:

Tajweed Course:
Tajweed classes are 4 levels,20 hours per level, 3-days a week, and available only if the 4 student prerequisite is met. Please note that students must have reached at least level 5 in the Arabic program to enter levels 2-4 in Tajweed without the instructor's permission.

Calligraphy Course:
Calligraphy classes are 20 hours, 3-days a week, and available only if the 4 student prerequisite is met.

The Financial aid Department is offering Financial Aid for qualified recipients. Please note that financial aid is a benefit, which is granted according to the Center's prerogative and conditions. Students interested in applying for financial aid should do so a month prior to the start of their intended program.

 

This year we have Three types of discounts:
1. Family discount: Students coming with their spouse or first kin are offered 10% discount.
2. University discount: Students sent by their universities, organizations, and companies please contact us to discuss fees and possible discounts.

3. Airport Shuttle Service: (Optional)
I . Receiving:
A Fajr Center representative will pick the student up from the airport and take him directly to a lodging facility (i.e. hotel, apartment).

II. Departure:
Upon the student's departure a Fajr Center representative will take the student to the airport 2 hours prior to the student's departure.

4. Student Daily Transportation: (Optional)
Interested students will be provided with safe transportation to and from classes for the Winter Program. The cost of daily transportation will depend on the number of students/ location in this service (please contact us for more information)

5. Accommodation Search Service: (Optional)
The Department of Housing will search for an apartment per the student's request and description. Interested students should indicate so on the Registration Form . Please do not delay in this matter, Cairo is filled with tourist during the summer season and apartments may not be available in abundance. The following options are offered to students interested in using this service. Please note the following: Co-ed housing is not available for non-married couples according to Egyptian law. There is no charge for children under 10 years of age. There is no lease for less than one month.

Option 1: Apartment Search
The student will provide the Fajr Center with the following information.

a. Rent amount.
b. Type (with a/c or without) and size.
c. Length of stay.

The Department of Housing will search for two apartments meeting the students' description. Students will be taken to see the apartments and given the choice of which one they choose to rent.
Please note: Students arriving between 5:00 pm - 9:00 am, and on Fridays need to make other accommodation arrangements until the next business day (either through the Center or privately). important notice: couples coming together should make sure they have their marriage certificate with them. ($90 USD)

Option 2: Roommate Search
The Fajr Center will arrange accommodations with other students currently studying at the Fajr Center. ($30 USD)

Option 3: Hotel Accommodations
The Fajr Center can provide interested students with accommodations in a 3-star hotel. Interested students should indicate their choice on the Registration Form one month prior to the start of the course. Please do not delay in this as rooms are reserved on a first come-first serve basis.
The cost of the hotel is as follows (not including pickup from the airport):

Hotel Rates are subject to 24% Governmental taxes and services charges.




The Fajr Center will arrange 2-Friday excursions to local tourist sites (excluding the price of the tickets). The Fajr Center will provide a sack lunch. each trip alone costs $30 USD

Day Trip:
Day trip to major tourist sites in Egypt (i.e. Sharm El-Sheik, or Hurghada) can be arranged by the Fajr Center. Interested students should indicate so on the Registration Form one month prior to the start of the course.

1. Students must provide the Fajr Center with the following information prior to his/her arrival
a. Arrival date, flight number, airline carrier ( we need this info at least 2 days for airport pickup)
b. List of services being requested.
c. Study options
d. Additional options being requested.
e. For Accommodation and roommate search we need confirmation for this service at least a week prior to the student's arrival or else we can't guarantee to find suitable accommodation. Summer is a touristic season in Egypt so accommodation spaces are limited. You can still send us your request after the deadline is over and we will try our best.
f. For students requesting both Airport pickup and accommodation or roommate search service. Accommodation search service runs from 9 am to 5 pm students arriving out of the time range will be put in a hotel until the next day. For Roommate search service the service runs from 9 am to 10 pm students arriving out of the time range will be put in a hotel until the next day.

2. Students are advised to arrive in Cairo three days prior to the beginning of the course, to be ready for the start of the program.

3. The Fajr Center is closed on Thursdays and Fridays. Students can use these days to explore our historic city with friends or on one of our organized tours.

4. To guarantee your place, we request that the following deposit fees be paid online prior to the start of Summer Program through a third party secure portal (2checkout.com)

b. Sibawih I/II Program: $100 USD

Note:
The deposit is refundable up to 15 days before the course starting date.
Accordingly, there will be no refund within 15 days of the beginning of the course.

5. The deposit is payable online by following these steps:

d. Continue the registration process
e. Read and Agree on the Policy
f. Review your cart and press confirm
g. Press the send button.
h. Reply to the email sent to you by filling the registration form
i. Login to your account and after your status is shown "accepted" press the checkout button to proceed with online payment.

6. All remaining fees are payable upon arrival in Cairo.

7. All additional courses, services, and options are subject to availability.

8. Students should bring a copy of their passport and 2 passport-size photos as they arrive to the center.

9. For Couples requiring accommodation a copy of their marriage is required to be handy with them.

* Students should not miss more than 3 days of their course (unless prior agreement with center is negotiated), we advise students to arrive a couple of days prior to the start of the program in order to take their placement test , complete any necessary paperwork and settle their accommodation.

* Students must bring two passport size photographs and two photocopies of their passport when coming to take the placement test.

Refund Policy:
If a student decides to withdraw from the course after one class session, 40% of the course fee will be refunded. This applies whether he or she attends the lesson or not. If a student decides to withdraw from the course after two class session, 25% of the course fee will be refunded. This applies whether he or she attends those lessons or not.

THERE WILL NO REFUNDS AFTER THREE CLASS SESSIONS.

Absence and Lateness Policy:
If a student is absent for more than three lessons per level without approval form the Administrative director, he or she will not be allowed to enter the final exam for that level but will be allowed to continue studying. The Fajr Center will not refund the course fee of any one who is expelled from class due to absence.

The Fajr Center does not tolerate lateness. Marks will be deducted from students arriving not more than one hour late. Students arriving more then one hour late, will not be allowed to enter the classroom. Students requiring permission to be absent or to be late are required to submit a letter of request twenty-four hours prior to class. Exceptions will be made for emergency cases.

Examination Policy:
All students are required to take a midterm and a final exam for each level. There will be no exceptions. Students refusing to take an exam will be dismissed from class. Cheating on examinations may lead to expulsion from the Center.

Renting Apartments:
The Fajr Center has arranged to help students find apartments, however, the rental contract is between the student and the apartment owner. Thus the student is responsible for paying the deposit (one month's rent), charges for all utilities (water, gas, electricity), and for any damage.
